Location: Denver, CO

Contract Details
  • Position Type: Contract
  • Contract Duration: 4 months
  • Pay Rate: $24.00-$26.00 / Hour (USD)
  • Shift / Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
  • Travel Requirements: Driving to and from multiple sites (20-25 sites) each day

Job Summary

As an HVAC Engineer , you will be responsible for maintaining mechanical and electrical equipment for complex commercial HVAC systems by conducting proactive performance testing and ongoing scheduled maintenance. This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function, responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems. The candidate will be working independently, driving to and from multiple clinic sites each day, and must have a highly professional attitude.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assign tasks to team members and ensure all duties are done in a timely manner
  • Install, repair, adjust, service, and maintain electric or pneumatic control systems used for building heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems and equipment, including calibration of related instruments, gauges, and control components
  • Inspect and conduct ongoing maintenance on building HVAC equipment to ensure proper operation of equipment and compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and work safety
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures and identify the best course of action for equipment modifications
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of standard principles and procedures to accomplish complex assignments and provide innovative solutions
  • Coach others and share in-depth knowledge of own job discipline and broad knowledge of several job disciplines within the function
  • Lead by example and model behaviors consistent with RISE values; work to build consensus and convince others to reach an agreement
  • Impact a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities within own team and other related teams
  • Work within broad guidelines and policies
  • Explain difficult or sensitive information
  • Respond to work orders at clinics, including:
- Fixing door locks - Light fixtures - Outlets - Sink faucets - Ceiling tile replacements - HVAC repairs

  • Sophisticated math skills; ability to calculate mildly complex figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations
Preferred Skills
  • Any advanced knowledge in plumbing, HVAC, or electrical would be a plus
  • Prior experience working in hospitals or clinic chains is a significant advantage
  • Prior shift manager or supervisory experience preferred
  • Trade school diploma or coursework (a plus)
Education Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required; trade school diploma is a plus
  • In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered
  • EPA Certification - must be able to work with refrigerant (required)
  • Current/valid driver's license (required)
Required Experience
  • Any amount of experience will be considered; candidates with basic HVAC skills are encouraged to apply
  • High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4-5 years of job-related experience (or equivalent combination of experience and education)
Nice-to-Have Experience
  • Experience working in hospitals or clinic chains
Work Environment / Physical Requirements
  • Candidate will be working in a dialysis clinic environment - a highly professional attitude is required
  • A company vehicle will be provided
  • All tools and PPE will be provided
  • Driving to and from 20-25 sites per day
  • Must meet physical requirements including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs, and the ability to carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more
  • Background package: safety-specific check with drug screen and MVR
Important Notes
  • Interview process: 1st round in person with lead engineer; 2nd round virtual with hiring manager
  • Position is covering for someone on a leave of absence
  • Conversion to permanent employment is possible if headcount becomes available
