Location Highlights
Kapaa offers access to both coastal scenery and outdoor recreation on Kauai’s east side. Ke Ala Hele Makalae, the coastal path known as the Kauai Path, runs through Kapaa and provides oceanfront walking and biking access near town. Wailua River State Park is a short drive from Kapaa and offers kayaking routes to Fern Grotto, while Lihue Airport is approximately 20 minutes away for interisland and mainland travel. Nearby attractions include Opaekaa Falls and Sleeping Giant Trail, giving the area a mix of small-town pace and well-known hiking options.
